Fulton County

While metro Atlanta has several contributing counties, the city of Atlanta is primarily located in Fulton County. Atlanta is the Fulton County seat. Largely by virtue of containing Atlanta, Fulton has the largest population of any county in Georgia, with a population of just over 1 million people as of 2008. Major businesses located in Fulton county include well established blue chip companies such as CNN, Delta, Georgia-Pacific, UPS, Home Depot, Coca-Cola, and Bell South.

Fulton County is also the home of America's great civil rights leader, Martin Luther King, Jr., who began his revolution in Fulton county. His childhood home and the Martin Luther King Center can be visited here in the Old Fourth Ward section of the city.

North Fulton, primarily made up of the more recently merged counties of Milton and Campbell. This section of the county has become a land of high-end suburbs and successful businesses.
